I STARTED WORKING IN CHILDCARE A WEEK AFTER MY 18TH BIRTHDAY PREVIOUS TO THAT I COMPLETED MY CERTIFICATE THREE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AT TAFE
WHILE WORKING FULL-TIME, I COMPLETED MY DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION ONLINE
I HAVE WORKED AT TWO LONG DAY CARE CENTRES WITHIN THE ILLAWARRA.
AFTER A FEW YEARS WORKING AT A CENTRE, I DECIDED THAT I WANTED A CHANGE AND DECIDED TO OPEN A FAMILY DAY CARE
MY DAY CARE SPACE IS A PURPOSE BUILT SPACE THAT MY DAD CONVERTED OUR SHED FOR US. THIS WAS A LONG JOURNEY, TAKING ALMOST 2 YEARS, BUT IT HAS BEEN THE BEST DECISION I HAVE MADE.
I AM A DOG MUM TO TWO BORDER COLLIES, ZOE AND RUBY AND RECENTLY GOT A KITTEN CALLED LOUIE
I HAVE A LOVE OF READING ROMANCE NOVELS, LOVE TO TRAVEL.
I AM A SUCKER FOR BUYING CHILDREN’S RESOURCES.
EXCURSIONS
We have a Nissan Pathfinder which is fitted with 4 car seats. Steph has completed child restraint installation training and adjust the car seats accordingly to each individual child. We go out into our community on a regular basis. Some places we visit are - local tafe play group - local library - other family daycare services - light rail trains - science centre - aviation museum - local parks and much more. This is a great way for children to interact within the community and also with other children when we visit other fdc's
this also teaches the children road safety.
OUR SCHEME
Natural Choice Family Day Care’s head office is based in Dapto, and we service all of NSW. We are a boutique scheme servicing a small number of highly professional and qualified Educators immersed in their family day care homes under the National Quality Framework. Local coordinators visit regularly into the homes as well as being available via email or phone at all times with support.
